Just how games have been a huge success on Facebook, Google now adds gaming to its Google Plus platform to increase user activity. Users can now play games on the world’s fastest growing network such as Angry Birds, Crime City, Diamond Dash and Zynga Poker.

This could be a great way to entice the users by engaging them even more, as the platform will allow users to post their scores and latest achievements, pretty much the same way as it works on Facebook.

Google Plus offering games

The big question here though – “Is Google just being a copycat of Facebook or is there anything new for the users?”

Google has tried to answer this question in a rather technical way that the game scores and other notifications won’t bug users in general “stream” of profile updates. Instead the notifications will only appear in your friends gaming related notification areas only.

Well…no huge innovations there.
Anyhow, best of luck Google!

According to Google, they are starting out with a selection of titles but looking to expand by engaging more developers. This move may see an API release and a dedicated developers blog coming its way.

Looking at the progress on Google Plus, some experts are reporting a dip in traffic and growth rate, which is why Google is working hard to offer more,  and plugging the holes, where it lacks badly – when compared to Facebook.

Let us know if you think Gaming is something you felt was missing on Google Plus?
