Toshiba has unveiled prototype of a 56 inch Glasses-Free 4K 3DTV at Consumer Electronics Show 2011. The 56 inch Glasses-Free 4K 3DTV was announced when Toshiba launched first commercial glasses-free 3DTVs, promising that Toshiba will launch bigger screen version of these sets in 2011. The new prototype will allow viewers to view 3D pictures without wearing polarized or shutter glasses but there is only one drawback of that the viewer has to stay in one of the 3 viewing positions to get a sensation of depth.

Still Toshiba’s engineers are trying to improve this technology and it would be more appropriate to say that it is not ready for living room yet. However Toshiba has not mentioned anything on this HDTV pricing or when it will be available in markets for consumers but according to earlier reports Toshiba’s HDTV’s will go on sale from April.

So stay tuned and we’ll let you know more as soon as we hear anything about it.
