Jailbreak Apple TV 2G iOS 4.2.1 with GreenPois0n RC6

Untethered Jailbreak for Apple TV 2G on iOS 4.2.1 with GreenPois0n RC6 is now available. Chronic Dev Team has finally released GreenPois0n RC6 update with untethered Jailbreak support for Apple TV 2G on iOS 4.2.1. You can download GreenPois0n RC6 for Windows and Mac both. Jailbroken Apple TV supports installing third party Apps like NitoTV.

How to Jailbreak Apple TV 2G iOS 4.2.1 using GreenPois0n

GreenPois0n RC6 also supports Untethered Jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 on iPhone 4,3Gs,3G, iPod touch 2G/3G/4G and iPad. Follow our step by step guide on how to Jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 using GreenPois0n. You can also watch the video guide below.

Requirements:
Apple TV 2G iOS 4.2.1 (Click here to download or update using iTunes updater)
GreenPois0n RC6 for Windows or Mac (Click here to download)

Step 1
Extract GreenPois0n zip file which you have downloaded.

Step 2
Turn off your Apple TV and connect it to your computer.

Step 3
Run GreenPois0n exe file. It will show the following message. Click Yes to continue

Step 4
Click “Prepare to Jailbreak (DFU) Button“  when GreenPois0n shows the following message. Your Apple TV should be powered off.

Step 5
GreenPois0n will guide you to put Apple TV in DFU mode. First Plug Apple TV 2G in to USB and wait for 7 seconds.

Step 6
Plug-in the power adapter and wait for 3 seconds.

Step 7
Press and hold Menu and Play/Pause buttons for 7 seconds

Step 8
Now release both Menu and Play/Pause buttons

Step 9
If you have done everything right, your Apple TV should be in DFU mode by now. GreenPois0n will show the following screen “Ready to Jailbreak” with a Jailbreak! button.

Note: If “Ready to Jailbreak” button is not enabled or GreenPois0n shows anything else, repeat from Step 2.

Step 10
Click “Jailbreak” button. GreenPois0n will now do everything for you. Just sit back and wait.

Step 11
GreenPois0n will show “Quit” button if the jailbreak is successful. Click the Quit button.

Step 12
Now unplug the Apple TV from your computer and connect it to TV. Go to GreenPois0n menu and select Inject Software as shown below.

Step 13
Select Install Cydia+SSH

Step 14
Let GreenPois0n install Cydia packages. Restart AppleTV when prompted.

Congratulations, you have done a successful Apple TV 2G iOS 4.2.1 Untethered Jailbreak.
