Jailbreak tool GreenPois0n RC5 for iPhone 4, iPhone 3Gs, iPod touch and iPad on iOS 4.2.1 is now available to download for Windows users. GreenPois0n Rc5 supports untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak without iOS 4.2b3 SHSH blobs on Cydia server. Jailbreaking your iDevice allow third party applications installation which are restricted on Apple App Store. iPhone 4 users! if you are on an older iOS version than iOS 4.2.1 with Carrier Unlocked, Follow this guide on how to preserve unlock and upgrade to iOS 4.2.1 (only for iPhone 4 users)

How to Jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 with GreenPois0n RC5

Warning: Do not upgrade to iOS 4.2.1 if you relay on an unlock. Ultrasn0w does not support the latest baseband yet.

Step 1:
Download GreenPois0n RC5 from the following url http://www.greenpois0n.com Click on Windows link to download. If that link is not working for you download from this Mirror.

Step 2:
Save the zip file on your desktop.

Step 3:
Extract by double click the downloaded gp_win_rc5_b2.zip file then drag the greenpois0n.exe file to the desktop. Double greenpois0n.exe to launch the application.

Step 4:
Power off and connect your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad with the PC. Now Click the large Prepare to Jailbreak (DFU) button

Step 5:
GreenPois0n will instruct you to put your device into DFU mode.

Press and hold the sleep button (the power on button) for 2 seconds.

Continue holding Sleep button and also Press and hold Home for 10 seconds.

Release Sleep button but continue holding Home for 15 seconds.

Step 6:
Now your device is in DFU mode. Click the Jailbreak button.

Step 7:
Greenpois0n will now jailbreak your device

Step 8:
Click the Quit button once the Jailbreaking is completed.

You’ll notice some verbose mode text scrolling on your device.

Step 9:
After restart you’ll notice a new Loader application on your Springboard. Touch its icon and launch it.

Step 10:
Touch on Cydia then press the large Install Cydia button that appears.

Step 11:
Once Cydia has installed successfully you can remove Loader by pressing the Options button then the large red Remove Loader.app button.

Step 12:
Restart your device then run Cydia. Let it do all the necessary updates.

Congratulations, you have a jailbroken iOS 4.2.1 device.

    After jailbreak it was good for a day and today i try to open cydia it go blank and it go to recovery mode ,and i try and try ,it won’t even let me restore ,and just error message ,is my iphone 3gs dead ,any one had this happen and got fix, plz help

    @ijo, i had this problem with redsnow. I discharged bettery complitly then started again restore in itune and it worked. (To discharg i left my phone for week in drawer) Then jailbreak using greenpoison

      Thx Dipak I will try that ,cause i went to the Apple store and they want $200 to replace my iphone 3gs,cause the error message i got from the itune is error 28,i did jailbreak 2 itouch and they work great ,so error 28 is problem with the battery,and i did have the battery replace by Apple store 3 months ago??

    I went through the whole process & it seemed to be fine.. Until all those little white words popped up on my screen.. It said it was unable to find the Jailbreak? I did everything the site & video told me to.. Anyone know what’s wrong? Because I’m getting really upset with it. Thanks.

      look, when you press jailbreak hold the home button still..DO NOT LET GO OF THE HOME BUTTON UNTIL THE GREEN BAR IS MOVING.

    I used it to jailbreak my phone and vital icons like the talk button, message button, and app store have disappeared all together. all the icons that come pre-packaged with the phone have been erased.
