Apple has offered a preview of the upcoming Mac OS X 10.7 “Lion” which is scheduled to be released in summer 2011. The company is adding many new features in the upcoming version of world’s most advanced OS X including ‘Mac App Store’, ‘LaunchPad’, ‘Full Screen Apps’, and ‘Mission Control’ which also gives OS X the power of iPad.
Here are some of the new features in Mac OS X Lion:
The Mac App Store:
Yes, Apple is also launching the App Store for its upcoming version of OS X and soon it will also be coming to Snow Leopard. With this App Store, user can able to download and install Mac Apps and Games right from the Mac machine.
LaunchPad:
Another great feature is the LaunchPad application launcher, which gives the OS X, iOS-style folders and an iPad-like grid of icons. So, users can easily switch between multiple programs and fast access to the applications.
Mission Control:
This new feature offers a unified view of all the applications, open windows and the dock so user can easily see and access all the running programs in one window.
This is currently a sneak peek of the Mac OS X Lion and many changes and improvements yet to be done. No launching date announced yet, but Apple is planning to release Lion sometime in the summer of 2011.
