Google has officially launched a new version for Android Market for devices running Android 2.2 FroYo or above operating system in an announcement by Google on Tuesday. The new Android Market is said to bring new design along with book sales and movie rentals. Google announced it via Mobile blog post on Tuesday, stating that “Today, we’re releasing a new version of Android Market which makes all of these available on phones Android 2.2 and higher.”

According to Google Mobile Product Manager Paul Montoy-Wilson – U.S. users of Android Market will now be able to choose and rent from thousands of movies and will be able to directly download them onto their Smartphones, starting at $1.99. Plus now Video apps can be downloaded with no waiting time along with it one can also download books too for same use. Design-wise the Android Market home page has now been spiced up with more top charts, staff picks, editor’s choice apps and new collections of great content.

Moreover if you don’t know the Google Android Market now has more than 200,000 apps, with 4.5 billion applications download to date, according to numbers released in May 2011. Anyhow users will not have to do anything special in order to get the new Android Market as it will happen automatically.
