Thanks, I already got my gingerbread on nexus one AT&T

  2. Ian says:

When I try to update keeps coming up : failed to verify whole-file signature. Download file 3 times, still no good. Any ideas?

    • Mujtaba says:

Make sure you have renamed the file to “update.zip” and also you have enabled file type format visible in Windows so you can verify its “update.zip” not “update.zip.zip”.
To enable file type format visibility go to Control Panel > Folder Options > View tab and Uncheck “hide extensions for known file types”

    Hello everyone,

    I have a few questions.

I own Google Nexus One Korean version
    The phone is not rooted.

    Android version
    2.2.1
    Baseband version
    32.50.00.32U_5.12.00.08
    Kernel version
    2.6.32.9-ge8111ea
    htc-kernel@u18000-Build-149#1
    Build number
    2.18.1010.4 CL269498 release-keys

    Hboot-0.35.0017
    Radio-5.12.00.08
I followed the exactly instructions to update my android to 2.3.3 and for some reason i get this message:
    – Install from sdcard…
    Finding update package…
    Verifying update package…
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
    E: signature verification failed
    Installation aborted.
If i try to update to 2.2.2 i also get this message
is it possible that the released update zip file doesn’t work for my build number?
i also want to mention that i named the downloaded zip file properly and place it into the root of my sd card, downloaded using different browsers chrome,IE,opera even downloaded using the phone, with no luck.
Can i do anything to get the latest update?or i have to wait for the OTA update

    Thanks in advance

same as the above post i am getting the same error and have tried everything RAZ has mentioned in his post bu to no avail.

Are these updates not applicable for our kind of build number??

  5. Gortron says:

Same here, Installation aborted, signature verification failed. Tried downloading the file 3 times.

  6. Jay says:

    Hello every one.
I was getting the vary same error msg. with Signature validation failure.
It is very frustrating and I have tried every feasible step.

Do not search the net – you will get nowhere, as even Google forum contains no answer to this.
The only way to get around this problem is to reset your phone to factory ROM, and then update it one ROM at a time till the latest one.
It worked for me very nice, thought it requires some work and patience…it is worth it at the end.
I have done the whole process from another computer and don’t have the link to original post, but some quick Googling for “reset factory ROM, nexus” will guide you in the rite direction.
I think this flaw is due to an incomplete or corrupted OTA update in past on your phone. I could be wrong, but this is the only reason I see.
Also I red if you have rooted phone – update will not work for you as well(have to go back to factory ROM too).

    Best of luck!
    Jay

I have the same problem as Saad. The status bar is gone, missing. This happened right after upgrading my nexus one to gingerbread. Also, incoming calls doesn’t shows an option to answer, neither caller ID. How can I fix it? Thanks!

  11. saad says:

Adriana, I have the same problem if you find a fix please post it here and i will do the same if I find one before you. Oddly enough, I haven’t come across other n1 guys having this problem. I can’t even connect it to my Pc after 2.3 update.

  12. JK says:

Did anyone find anything on the above problems that SAAD has? I have the same on my nexus one

  13. HMO says:

I just did it and btw all you need to do is reset ur phone then put the PASSMIG on your phone and it will offer you the update

  14. Saad says:

Hello guys, so basically what HMO above told us worked for me. BUT..i you have 2.3.3 already on your phone and you experienced problems which I mentioned above you ONLY need to do a factory reset. Reboot your nexus one and hopefully you will get to enjoy the gingerbread experience.

Post here if this does not work for you and I will try looking into it. Cheers.
