Nokia hires Pamela Anderson for the promotional campaign of N8

Nokia plans to launch the upcoming handset N8 with Hollywood stars ‘Pamela Anderson’ and ‘Ed Westwick’ in the next promotional campaign. To promote the N8, a short film called ‘The Commuter’ will entirely be shot with the N8’s camera. Nokia is also looking for two people to appear in scenes alongside the Hollywood stars, one to “be in a bedroom” with Pamela Anderson or “up close and personal in an elevator” with Ed Westwick. These two winners will also get the chance to appear in Hollywood quality at a star-studded London premiere of the new film in October.

“I’m really excited about the film and can’t wait to get on set,” says Anderson. “I don’t want to give too much away, but my scenes are shot in a bedroom and I’m looking forward to going back to my Finnish roots and sharing my bed with a Nokia N8.”

Nokia added a 12-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash in its most awaiting handset. The N8 users can also record HD-quality videos and edit them with a built-in editing suite.

“We wanted to create something very special for the launch of the Nokia N8 that showcases the Hollywood quality of its camera,” says John Nichols, head of marketing at Nokia UK. “The boldness of the campaign reflects the boldness of the device itself. This is all about accessible, fun technology for people to use and enjoy.”
