Nokia has announced the rollout via its official blog – announcing that it has released the Symbian Anna update for European and Asian markets including the UK, France, Russia, Indonesia, China and India. Nokia N8, C7, E7 and C6-01 users can update their devices through OTA or via Nokia’s Ovi Suite software for their computer.
The update is said to be of 27MB and it will take around 20 minutes for the device to update depending on your internet connection speed. It is recommended that users should seek out for a Wi-Fi connection if they are planning to take the OTA update route.
It is also reported that users’ data will be remain safe even after the update but we would still recommend you to make a back up of you data, should anything goes wrong while updating your device.
Furthermore, some of the users may find a dual-stage process for the update if their current firmware isn’t up to date for Anna to land directly on it. So don’t worry if you are seeing that
The Symbian Anna update would enable you a virtual QWERTY keypad in portrait mode, which is suitable for fast texting, split-screen text input feature, which allows users to check out anything else in the background while they are typing.
Furthermore, there is now an updated web browser with better security in place.
One will also notice the updated icon set and improved Maps functionality.
Plus the Symbian Anna will now activate NFC chip on Nokia C7.
So all you Symbian loving folks out there - update your devices with the new firmware and share your experience with us below.

Check whether or not there is a split-screen text input view. If not, something may go wrong with your update.
Update was successful. It gave me a tool called signal booster. When trying to access it, gives General Error.
@ryo maximus
I Have The Same Problem..I Can’t Update That 2 Update Files And That Signal Boster When I Click It, It Says Error >_< Useless Update
The Issue is that Qtmobility is conflicting with the already installed latest version that is 1.13 so when this component tries to install you will get “update error” This happen with qtmobility_pu.sis file.
Steps:
First: download these two files below:
http://download.arrow.nokia.com/p/d/fds_arrow/1108/1208/87bc-4d6d-44e0-b6d9/qtmobility.sis
http://download.arrow.nokia.com/p/d/fds_arrow/1108/1209/efdb-69a8-44ce-81c2/qtmobility_pu.sis
Second:
Install qtmobility.sis to Phone memory, This will downgrade QtMobility.
third:
Then go ahead and simply upgrade qtmobility_pu.sis and then check software update. Most probably it will be gone and if not then just click start update for the remaining files to install :smileyhappy:
I update my c7 last aug 19, and it was successful one. via OTG Wlan, at first i notice no split screen! but when i deactivate the swype apps and reboot. the split screen is present… thanks nokia for the update!
