Despite of announcing Nokia Winows Phone 7 devices Finnish giant has also unveiled 4 new handsets under Asha family that runs on Series 40 6th Edition in its on-going Nokia World conference. The announced handsets include Asha 200, Asha 201, Asha 300 and Asha 303 and just to let you know the word Asha means “hope” in Sanskrit.
Nokia has targeted emerging markets with these handsets but still incorporated physical QWERTY keyboard in each of the devices. The Nokia Asha 303 is said to be the higher-end phone as it features a 2.6-inch capacitive touch screen and a full QWERTY keyboard and to power it Nokia incorporated a 1 GHz processor. Design-wise it will look like the Nokia X3-02 touch’n'type and will offers a 5 megapixel camera on the back. According to Nokia its retail price will be around 115 EUR and is expected to ship by the end of the year. Similarly Asha 300 will have almost the same specifications as the Asha 303 but it will have a regular numeric keypad. Other of its features will include a 1 GHz processor, 5 megapixel camera and memory card-powered storage up to 32 GB. It is expected to retail for 85 EUR later this year.
Moving on the Nokia Asha 200 and 201 in design will look very much like the Nokia C3 and will be equipped with the same features but the only difference will be that the Asha 200 will have support for dual SIM. According to Nokia they have used their most powerful loudspeaker yet in these devices. Specifications-wise both handsets will offer QWERTY keyboards and Nokia popular WhatsApp messenger. Also both handsets will have up to 32GB on-board storage, giving one all the space they need. As for their price and availability both will be available by the end of this year just as the other handsets but they will cost around 60 EUR.
