This time rumor mill on Apple iPhone 5 is suggesting that Apple might switch from the glass-backed iPhone 4 design to an aluminum chassis for this next-generation Smartphone. The reason that is being proposed behind using an aluminum chassis is to resolve issues of cracking and scratching of the Smartphone.

This rumor was sparked by macotakara.jp blog claiming their reliable source has confirmed that Apple iPhone 5 would be coming with new metal back plate that will have a redesinged Apple logo incorporated with the Wi-Fi, cellular and other antennas. This approach seems to be credible because some sources are telling that glass design of the iPhone 4 has left Apple frustrated with its durability and weight issues.

The same report has also pointed out the availability of iPhone 5 saying that it will be available by June or July of on-going year and it would come with the same A5 dual-core processor which is integrated in recently announced iPad 2.

Anyhow check out what iPhone 5 would be packing with over here and in the mean time let us know what would be your cup of tea? A metal backing or a glass backing?
