Samsung Electronics has gone official and announced that it will start to roll out Android 2.3 Gingerbread for whole of the Samsung Galaxy family in mid-May in the UK and Nordic countries, which will include Samsung Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Fit, Galaxy Gio and Galaxy Mini.

According to the Samsung press release the first device to receive Android 2.3 Gingerbread update will be Samsung Galaxy S in UK and Nordic countries from mid-May, and then step by step it will be rolled out to other European markets as well as in North America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East Asia and Africa. What Galaxy family users can expect from this Android 2.3 Gingerbread update is faster performance of the device; support for more powerful graphics and better look for games.
Moreover one will also see an improved user interface, which will allow user to use his Galaxy device much more easily. Along with this the Gingerbread update will also bring copy and paste functionality to the device. To have this update all you have to do is to download Kies software from Samsung (link below). Kies software is for Samsung’s device management software, which allows updating Samsung device if the update is available and lets you see your device’s content on a PC and much more.
