Tech giant Sony has officially confirmed that it will be launching an Android 3.0 Honeycomb Tablet this summer to compete with Apple’s iPad 2. The news was break by Japan’s biggest business daily The Nikkei that Sony CEO, Howard Stringer has confirmed Sony’s first Android 3.0 Honeycomb Tablet would be officially available for consumers by time of summer this year.

Currently there isn’t any information available regarding the specs of this Tablet apart from being powered by Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system. So can this be the previously leaked PlayStation Certified Tegra 2 “S1″ tablet? Chances are yes it can be!
However the report further claims that the upcoming Tablet would be hitting US retail stores first. So keep a track over here and we will let you know if anything comes up.
